Middle Tennessee Floods

In case you may have missed the news, over the weekend the city of Nashville and many other surrounding Middle Tennessee towns and cities were suddenly flooded. The flood levels quickly surpassed the 100-year flood mark. Much of the city is literally under water.

Our local news networks sprang into action reporting, blogging and tweeting information as things grew worse. We applaud the efforts of Nashville’s Channel 2, 4 and 5 continued coverage. The Tennessean, Tennessee’s largest newspaper, and Nashvillest, our hyper-local news blog continue to provide us with updates, photos and videos of the chaos.

Amateur and professional photographers took to the streets and captured horrific images of the state of our city. The video below does a good job of capturing the look and overall sentiment.

You can help

Please consider contributing to the relief efforts by texting “REDCROSS” to 90999 to give a $10 donation.

You can also visit: Mid-TN Red Cross, Community Foundation of Middle TN and Second Harvest Food Bank to make donations. Hands On Nashville is providing information for those who wish to volunteer for clean up and to help the city get back on it’s feet.

We thank everyone for contributing and for telling the world about Nashville.
