For a good road trip, I would recommend bringing company as well as something that you like. such as a video game, a good book to read, or listening to your favorite music on full blast. =)

We travel with children- and, I’m forever piling up ‘new to them’ things in plastic boxes about the size of a shoe box. Anything they haven’t seen, or don’t know about yet- goes in the box (as long as it won’t melt of course!). And, for about the 5 minutes it takes us to pull out of the driveway and them to go through it- we’re good… After that, it’s a matter of them having plenty of junk to pick back up around the vehicle, so I guess it’s still working out for us!

Get on car. Get friend on. Get two cokes. Wear sunglasses. Blast “Life is a highway” and sing to it. Drive like a boss.

If you want a road trip to go well you should pack plenty of snacks, buy maps or a gps, make a driving schedule and all that.
But if you want it to be fun you should plan as little as possible; stay up all night and leave in the morning, directions scrawled on the back of your hand so you have to be careful not to smear it or theres no hope, randomly turn off the main road for a scenic route. Way more interesting.
I guess a great trip would be some combination of the two. But never forget that getting lost is almost always more fun as long as you still get there.

Try and combine your bathroom breaks, gas fill-ups, and food stops into one in order to reduce the amount of times you have to stop.
