Junior Art Director 4/1/2015

We’re a fast-paced, global, leading manufacturer of consumer electronic accessories, both online and at retail, and we’re looking for a creative self-starter to grow our in-house marketing team. Position Details

Our Communication Design team encompasses a variety of platforms, including but not limited to sales collateral, sales presentations, trade shows, and advertising campaigns.

The Junior Art Director will handle a variety of creative and design functions within the Creative / Marketing department. Multiple levels of project work required, from small scale to large, working directly with our team to develop creative visual concepts and relaying them to the Associate Creative Director and Executive Creative Director.

Must be a natural visual thinker, ready to expand on skills and learn from Creative Directors in order to excel. Often working with a copywriter to develop a concept or idea, this position requires creative assertion of ideas and a passion to sell the ideas to peers. Role is very hands-on and often busy. Position involves work on multiple media platforms, including sales presentations and collateral, marketing materials, print and digital advertising.


  • leads the communication design team to fulfill all projects accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with brand standards

  • oversees design, accuracy, organization and content of slide and presentation library
  • heavily communicates with sales team and category managers to ensure effectiveness of all sales collateral

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2 or more years art direction, marketing and advertising experience in print and digital media
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art direction or related field

Back-end Web Developer 1/27/2015

Job Description

The Back-end Web Developer will create and maintain core application logic, databases, data and application integration, API and other back-end processes to support the functions of the eCommerce team.

The Back-end Web developer reports to the Web Technology Lead.

Job Responsibilities Include

  • Collaborate and scope requested new features to Magento with the Griffin team
  • Develop extensions and modules for custom Magento and Wordpress functionality
  • Support eCommerce staff in server management
  • Provide custom reports for Customer Support and eCommerce teams
  • Manage external vendors
  • Write consistent, clean and maintainable code
  • Work with front-end developer and designer to provide guidance on best practices
  • Document solutions with concise and clear explanations
  • Troubleshoot issues in the eCommerce environment
  • Manages workflow in a transparent way as defined by eCommerce
  • Stays current on latest trends in web application design

Required Skills and Experience

  • At least 3 years experience with LAMP stack
  • Experience with Magento or other eCommerce platforms
  • Experience with REST and SOAP APIs
  • Experience with nginx is a plus
  • Experience with Git is a plus

Embedded Firmware Design Engineer 10/21/2014

This position reports to the Engineering Manager, and is responsible for the design, prototyping, testing and evaluating of Griffin consumer and business products.

Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design, debugging, testing and evaluating of new and existing products in respect to embedded firmware
  • Timely development with milestones of each firmware application; keeping management abreast of any changes to specs or timelines
  • Provides instruction and guidance to hardware designers in component selection and design
  • Ability to work with vendors and contractors involved in development of products

Education and Experience

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent)
  • 3-8 yrs embedded software development in C; preferably in consumer products
  • Embedded experience, experience with limited-memory targets (8-bit and 32-bit)
  • Understanding of general processor architecture and functionality
  • Proficient in C (without expectations of niceties such as malloc)
  • Ability to read electrical schematics (signal connections, etc)
  • Experience with JTAG debugging
  • IAR Development tools a plus
  • Experience interfacing with Apple iDevices strongly desired
  • Successful candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and demonstrates strong communication and organization skills. Candidate is able to take initiative, manager and prioritize multiple projects, and work well with or without direct supervision

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate would have experience with various RF technologyies, 2.4GHz and 5GHz (Bluetooth, Zigbee, IEEE 802.11, FM, etc), Microchip, NXP and ST ARM based processors, Apple product standards and specifications. USB connectivity, digital audio and experience with Agile PLM also helpful.

This is a full-time position at our home office in Nashville, TN. Candidate must be located locally, or willing to move to Nashville. We are looking to fill this position immediately.
