My iTalk isn't working. It doesn't go directly to Record mode.

  • Make sure you have installed the latest iPod software update from Apple. You must use an iPod with video (5th generation) with software update version 1.1.1 or later. If you are unsure which version you have installed, you can check this by navigating to the Settings > About menu directly on your iPod.
  • Disconnect your iTalk for one minute, then reconnect. When the red LED blinks, iTalk is working and will go directly to Record mode.
  • If this doesn't work or if there seems to be a problem with your iPod, you may want to reset it with iTalk attached. To reset your iPod, press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Then release the buttons and wait until you see the Main menu.
