Supporting more than a dozen of the most widely used barcode systems, Beam scans barcodes, even on many challenging curved or reflective surfaces. Its ergonomic design is easy to grasp and use shift after shift, and can be operated whether you’re wearing gloves or not.
Beam supports all major 1D and 2D barcoding systems, including UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8/JAN 8, EAN-13/JAN 13, Bookland EAN, Code 128, GS1-128 (UCC/EAN-128), ISBT 128, Code 39, Codabar, GS1 DataBar, PDF417, MicroPDF417, Data Matrix, QR Code, MicroQR, Aztec and many more.
Beam is designed to work with your EHR and VOIP applications. And the available SDK allows Beam to be easily integrated with proprietary systems too.
Beam’s impact-resistant polycarbonate shell is designed to protect the iPhone from 4-foot drops onto the floor. Combined with an IP54 design for dust and water resistance, and an integrated Touch-ID-compatible screen protector, Beam’s smooth exterior is cleanable with industry-standard hospital grade cleaners and disinfectants.
Beam is self-powered and rechargeable. Additional externally swappable batteries (2200 mAh) provide power to Beam's barcode scanner and provide additional battery life for the iPhone. Batteries and Beam units both recharge in approximately three hours in Beam's custom-built charging dock. Each dock can recharge three Beam units and three battery packs.

Tested for durability
The Griffin Quality Assurance team imparts several layers of inspection from the production line, outgoing Quality Control, and incoming device verification. These visual and physical checks are intended to keep quality high, mitigate device failure in the field and eliminate returns.
The QA specifications used by Griffin are a combination of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as well as various in-house programs that fall outside these organizations.
This triangulation of information and standards gives us the benefit of working with established methods while developing standards that can extend to products that don’t fall under pre-existing guidelines.
