SKU: Survivor for 4th gen. iPod touch
Ridiculously over-engineered? Or the perfect case for your iPod touch no matter where you're headed?

We think it's a little bit of both.

Simply put, the Griffin Survivor Case is the most protective case we've ever built.

Tested and certified to meet or exceed US Department of Defense Standard 810F and UK Department of Defense Standard 00-35, Griffin's Survivor is designed from the inside out to protect your iPod touch from extreme conditions ... dirt, sand, rain, shock, vibration and a host of other environmental factors.

Survivor is built on a shatter-resistant polycarbonate frame clad in rugged, shock-absorbing silicone. A built-in screen protector seals your Multi-Touch display from the outside environment, and hinged plugs seal the dock connector, camera lens, headphone port, hold switch and volume controls. A detachable heavy-duty clip secures your iPod touch to a belt or bag strap.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Its okay... But didn't protect... This case is good to protect against dropping I have dropped my iPod several times and it has never broken from the drops. I had my iPod in my back pocket and it cracked. I replaced the screen and then kept it in the belt-clip. I kept it in the clip for two days and it ended up broken in two different spots. The whole reason I bought it was to protect. I didn't go out and spend $30 for it to look pretty. The flaps for the camera, headphone jack, and the charging port are not made very well at all. After multiple uses, they all fell off.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great protection mostly I've been very pleased with this product (other than the belt clip breaking shortly after I bought it) until it fell off a dresser a few months ago. The dresser is shorter than my 5' tall wife so I'd approximize 4 1/2' or so since she can look across the top of it. My iPod now has a chip in the corner of the screen and a small area of dead pixels. It was in the case properly when it fell. The area with dead pixels started as a few fine lines and then spread. It now covers the top corner where it displays your wifi coverage which is a little frustrating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing Protection I got this case when I bought my iPod back in April 2013. I absolutely love this case even though there are a few (relatively) minor issues with the case. ISSUES: The flaps over all of the ports will eventually break off. After using this case for over 2 years, all three flaps have broken off; the camera cover, the charger cover and the headphone cover. Whilst this doesn't affect me too much , it does clearly leave the device quite vulnerable in those areas. However, the camera flap was quite tricky to open so it could possibly be considered a benefit that I don't have to do that, but in the long run it is a shame that they eventually break off. The screen protector isn't amazing. As I remember it, it made the touch screen quite unresponsive and made the display look funny. Yes it made the iPod waterproof, but I honestly don't think that it's balanced out by the negatives. I have (a very long while ago) deliberately pushed the screen cover out; it is simply glued to the frame on the front. I don't think that it can be accidentally pushed out, but after pushing it out I found that the screen worked flawlessly. It isn't rain resistant any more, but the lip is still there around the screen so you can place it face down without risk of scratching the screen. FInally, the last 'big' flaw is that the screen protector also covered up the (already pretty bad) selfie camera. Whilst it does add some extra protection, I found that this camera gave much better results without the screen protector covering it. One very minor issue is that the plastic around the screen makes it quite hard to reach the very edges and corners of the screen sometimes, but this has never really affected me. PROS: It protects your device. That's all that really can be said. I have dropped my iPod down (small flights of) stairs, dropped it from about 7 ft, and chucked it against a few walls from anger. I have even thrown it at the ground sometimes, both from anger and from showing my friends how protective this case is. This case is a beast. My iPod has got no scratched on either camera, the back or, most importantly, the screen. It really is a military standard case that protects it from a beating. Protection wise, this case is absolutely perfect from defending against drops and bumps. It still allows incredibly easy acces to the buttons. The volume buttons and the sleep/wake button are all incredibly easy to access and function 100% of the time. Even with a thick rubber covering, they still give a satisfying click when pressed. The home button is also easy to access and use, but through general usage I found that it doesn't seem to work as well as the other buttons. It makes the iPod much easier to grip. Whilst it can be troublesome to get in and out of pockets, I have never accidentally dropped the device whilst it was in the case. It makes the iPod incredibly easy to handle, and feels great in the hand. When I don't have the case on, it feels incredibly vulnerable (which it kind of is), but with this case on it feels perfectly safe. ALl in all, I would definitely recommend investing in this product. Whilst it is a bit more expensive than most other cases out there, is is much better at protecting your iPod than they are. 9.5/10

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING CASE!!! This is the best case I've ever owned as of the afternoon of the day I wrote this. I was at a swim meet for my High School swim team and I was listening to music near the pool's edge while cheering on my teammates. I turned around and slipped my iPod out of my hoodie pocket to change the song and I lost grip and sent it flying across the deck, where it landed face down on the edge of the children's pool. It then proceeded to roll into the water. My friends held my headphones and plunged into the water after it. I was running back to the bleachers, unlocking the screen and scrolling through my list of songs and whatnot. I was pretty impressed that it was still fully functional after it had landed completely underwater. I dried off the iPod and case and all was well! Moral of the story, if you're looking for a great case that will protect your iPod from water and drop damage and is super affordable, this case is for you. It survived a facedown fall onto a concrete pool deck and a complete submersion under chlorinated pool water. Thanks for saving my iPod, Griffin.
